How can Shiatsu benefit you?
Shiatsu uses gentle pressure to the body to unblock energy and influence the flow in the Meridians. Gentle or more dynamic stretches, rocking and joint rotations may be used. Once energy flow is established you will feel the benefits on many levels..physical, mental and emotional. In western terms the sympathetic nervous system is calmed, and the parasympathetic takes over creating a space for deep healing to occur.

What happens during a treatment?
The first shiatsu treatment lasts 1hr 15 mins as a short consultation is taken at the beginning to ensure a treatment specific to the your needs. The whole body will be worked with special attention to specific needs and problem areas. Treatments take place on a futon mat with clients wearing loose fitting clothing.
At the end of the session recommendations, stretches and breathing exercises such as the Makko-ho exercises may be given to help you maintain relaxation and good health at home.
- Follow-up treatments are 1 hour.
How often should I have Shiatsu?
The regularity of sessions depends on the persons needs.
- You will feel a positive change after 1 session.
For chronic problems regular sessions for a while is recommended to help deal with the underlying cause
Recommended is regular sessions to assimilate the shiatsu sessions for long-term benefit and support…every 2 or 3 weeks. Then every 4-6 weeks for self-maintenance.
